One of the things I often hear from the couples I get to work with is, you have gone above and beyond and keeping me sane, helping me drop my anxiety, stress and clarifying the things that I don’t know what to expect and how to manage when things come up at the last minute.
Many times I refer to myself as “the rock” keeping the couple settled in at the front and sharing this special moment in front of their family and friends. Becoming more relaxed and getting really clear about things beforehand. I also mention, there are NEVER SILLY QUESTIONS! Ask me anything and if I don’t know I will find out from the correct resource for you or direct you. That is my job. I do this day in and day out, so there is not a situation I haven’t come across. My aim to make the brides and grooms feel relaxed and in good hands, after all you want to remember the day, and look back with fond memories. Not ones filled with regret that you were panicking.
Some of my professional background that helps me to work with couples; in my other career, I help clients work through and release anxiety and depression as an Energy Healer. I help clients move emotions out of their body as a Yoga Instructor and my original background as an Interior Designer helps me to give the vision of how things will look and I help the couple get into that mental place of standing up front together as I paint the picture with them of their wedding ceremony day. But most of all I have always been planning events since I was my high school Student Body President and on Student Council . I am super organized and yes I do ask a LOT of questions. When you put all of that together and combine with public speaking, to hear the ‘I DO’ from the couple is that more exciting.
I have been known to cry during a ceremony. Being in such close proximity to the couple, standing there and feeling their their energy and excitement, the love and gratitude they have for each other and knowing their back story can bring forth an amazing wave of emotions. That is what the ceremony is about, sharing your love for each other.
So when the couples I work with say “You have gone above and beyond for our wedding Amy” that is truly why. I have versatility to work with all couples and create the dream day to celebrate them coming together. But those more traditional couples where one will say, “whatever the bride wants” gives me goosebumps. They realize how much this means to support her wishes.
