Meet your Wedding Officiant

AMY STEPHENS ...

I performed my first wedding for a friend in May of 2015 and enjoyed sharing that space of acknowledging the love between them.  I incorporate humor, especially if needed, to lighten the mood.  The ceremonies that blend families are so nurturing to the parents and children. I like giving the children a role in the ceremony to show they are part of this special day and the joining of both sides.  

As a yoga instructor since 1998, I have a calm yet authoritative voice that keeps the couple actively engaged at the moment and settling into the ceremony instead of letting their nerves get the best of them.    

My goal is to allow the couple to feel comfort and find strength so their guests can be witnesses of their love.

I am a professional and take my role seriously. I respect the space to support the couple in a loving time with their friends and family.  If you decide to elope in North Scottsdale, I hold space for you to feel nurtured in my surroundings.

My background consists of:

• BFA in Interior Design

• Event Planner

• Teaching yoga, since 1998

• Healing Touch Certified Practitioner, started my journey 2001

• Former Tour Guide at Taliesin West, Frank Lloyd Wright's winter home

In my business life, I enjoy networking, and I have several resources (wedding planners, photographers, DJs, Bakers) that I can recommend for your ceremony as well if you are interested.  Since we have all worked together at past ceremonies, your ceremony moves smoothly from one aspect to the next.   Keep that in mind, when your vendors know each other before the ceremony … your ceremony flows with ease and a high level of professionalism!
